Position Summary:
The Procurement Buyer plays a pivotal role in our procurement operations, reporting directly to the Procurement Manager. This position is responsible for overseeing sourcing activities, managing the purchase order process, and providing support in analyzing quotations and proposals. The Procurement Buyer will collaborate closely with various departments to source operational materials and services as per business needs. Additionally, this role involves maintaining purchasing data and metrics to ensure efficient procurement practices. Specific duties and responsibilities include:

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate the purchasing process with vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Administer the purchasing process from requisition to purchase order, through receipt, and invoicing.
  • Update inventory to ensure that stock is kept at appropriate levels.
  • Assist the warehouse with receiving purchases where goods have arrived earlier than scheduled or arrived incomplete.
  • Manage all discrepancies with strategic purchase orders.
  • Review the following day's scheduled purchase receipts with the GTA warehouse and report any discrepancies or objections to the analyst.
  • Communicate supplier issues, performance concerns, and non-compliance concerns to all relevant parties.
  • Analyze and report purchasing data and vendor performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external suppliers.
  • Act as an interface between relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects.
  • Responsibility for the management of all suppliers' packing slips from GTA warehouse receipts.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, product count variances, stock loss, quality control, and packing slips.
  • Manage on-hand inventory and purchases through weekly inspections of inventory levels at each warehouse location.
  • Review material demands for assigned territory ensuring material availability for scheduling.
  • Effectively communicate suppliers’ disruptions impacting internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a combination of experience and training.

  • +2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain, preferably within construction or a related industry.

  • Experience working with ERP systems (NetSuite considered a strong asset).

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, purchase order management, and inventory control practices.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
Work Location: In-person, 5 days per week at our Concord office
