Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Residential Electrical Subcontractor to support ongoing residential projects in the Rochester, NY area. This role is ideal for a licensed electrician or electrical company looking for consistent subcontract work with clear scopes and reliable payment.
Responsibilities
- Perform residential electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades
- Rough-in and finish wiring for renovations and new residential construction
- Panel upgrades, service changes, lighting, receptacles, and troubleshooting
- Ensure all work meets New York State Electrical Code and local Rochester / Monroe County requirements
- Coordinate inspections with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work site
- Communicate clearly regarding job status, scheduling, and any scope changes
- Valid New York State–recognized electrical license (local licensing as required by jurisdiction)
- Registered and insured subcontractor
- General Liability Insurance
- Workers’ Compensation (or exemption, if applicable)
- Demonstrated residential electrical experience
- Strong understanding of local codes and inspection processes in the Rochester area
- Reliable transportation, tools, and equipment
- Ability to work independently and meet project timelines
- Experience with older homes and service upgrades common in the Rochester area
- OSHA 10 certification
- Ability to handle multiple small projects or service calls per week
- Professional, customer-focused approach when working in occupied homes
