Independent Contractor – Cabinet Installer & Finish Carpenter (Apartment Turnovers)

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Cabinet Installers and Finish Carpenters to support a consistent pipeline of apartment turnover projects in Halifax. This role involves precise installation and finishing work to deliver high-quality, move-in-ready units within tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry
• Finish carpentry including trim, baseboards, casings, and hardware
• Adjusting and aligning cabinet systems for proper fit and function
• Minor modifications and on-site fitting as required
• Ensuring a clean, professional finish to meet quality standards
• Maintaining clean, safe, and organized work areas

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience in cabinet installation and finish carpentry
• Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines
• Own tools, equipment, and reliable transportation
• Valid business registration

Insurance & Compliance Requirements (Mandatory)

• Commercial General Liability Insurance with a minimum of $2,000,000 coverage
• Active registration and good standing with the Nova Scotia Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)
• Compliance with Nova Scotia Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations
• WHMIS certification (preferred)
