Trade Services Associate Role Summary
Reporting to the Trade Services Manager, the Trade Services Associate plays a pivotal role within a renovation contractor team, blending expertise in construction project management with hands-on support for skilled trades. This position is essential for coordinating recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and payment processes, all while ensuring efficient project execution. In addition to direct management of trades, the role requires regular liaison with local and regional management teams to ensure alignment on project needs, resource allocation and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment andSelection of Skilled Trades:
• Identify, recruit, and select qualified tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, electricians, plumbers) based on project needs and timelines.
• Develop and maintain a strong network of skilled trades for immediate and future projects.

Onboarding and Field Testing
• Lead the onboarding process, ensuring trades understand project requirements, safety protocols, and company policies.
• Conduct field testing and skills assessments to verify technical capabilities.
• Collaborate with the safety team to ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards.

Performance Management
• Monitor trade performance to ensure timely and high-quality project execution.
• Provide feedback and support to trades, addressing challenges and performance issues proactively.
• Escalate performance concerns to senior management as needed.

Client Success
• Ensure trades meet quality standards and project deadlines to maintain client satisfaction.
• Act as a liaison between project managers and trades, facilitating clear communication and issue resolution. • Partner with project managers to maintain seamless workflow and align expectations.

Project Support and Coordination
• Work with local and regional management to optimize trade coordination and resource allocation.
• Plan trade mobilization, ensuring timely availability of trades and materials.
• Address logistical and operational challenges to keep projects on track.

Payment and Billing Support
• Oversee and ensure accurate, timely processing of trade payments based on work orders.
• Coordinate with the finance team to review and process invoices. • Maintain transparency with trades on payment procedures and timelines.

Liaison with Local and Regional Management
• Communicate regularly with management to align trade resources with project timelines and staffing needs.
• Provide updates on project status, resource requirements, and potential risks.
• Participate in meetings and strategy sessions to optimize trade management across regions.

Administrative and Reporting
• Maintain accurate records of trade performance, certifications, safety compliance, and payments.
• Generate reports for senior management on trade performance, resource allocation, and project progress.
• Contribute to policy and process improvements for better trade management and project execution.

Qualifications
• Expertise in Construction Project Management, with hands-on experience overseeing renovations, skilled trades and project execution.
• Proven ability to coordinate and manage tradespeople, ensuring efficiency, quality and adherence to project timelines.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, budgeting, and safety regulations, with proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of safety regulations and industry standards within the construction and renovation sectors.
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills to collaborate with trades, clients, and management teams.
• Highly organized and adaptable, capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities to address performance and project challenges.

Working Conditions
• Occasional travel to job sites required, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• A fast-paced work environment, requiring strong multitasking and time management skills.
• Position is a maternity cover (fixed-term contract).
• Salary range: $50,000 – $60,000 per year.
• Work is 5 days a week in our office.
